The legend of Rogaška Slatina speaks of the mythological winged horse Pegasus who struck the ground with its hoof and discovered Donat Mg – natural mineral water with the richest magnesium content in the world. Since the legend still lives today, Pegasus and his discovery of natural mineral water became an important part of Rogaška Slatina. Thus, the legend has grown into a symbol that is present at every step. It communicates the uniqueness of water and location, and shows respect for the local history. OVERVIEW
After getting settled at the hotel, you will experience the centuries-long spa legacy of Rogaška Slatina, and there’s no better way than taking a walk through the Spa Park, which is a unique experience in itself with its 10,000 m2, 7,500 perennials, 4,500 boxwoods and 700 roses. In the center of the park is the unique classicist former health resort (now Grand Hotel Rogaška), which is known for its magnificent Crystal hall and the representative pavilion Tempel. The unique natural mineral water Donat Mg that is unlike any other mineral water thanks to its rich magnesium content, and you can taste it at its spring at the renowned drinking hall Pivnica. On the second day you can either relax in the hotel, get to know the local history at the museum Ana’s court or visit Steklarna Rogaška and learn about the amazing glassworks legacy. Meet the chef: Gregor Narat
His culinary skills originate from practice. After becoming the manager of his own restaurant he chose the path of independence with a lot of learning and additional training. He started exploring, learning about different culinary approaches and making dishes in a slightly different way. He pays attention to seasonal ingredients, local producers and edible plants that grow around the house. He transformed Gostišče Jurg from a good rural inn into a restaurant with added value and original cuisine.
