In the hinterland, the mighty Pohorje with its pearl Rogla, on its slopes the space adventure in Vitanje, relaxation and fun in the spa town Zreče, historical and picturesque Slovenske Konjice and the mysterious beauty Žička kartuzija (the Žiče Charterhouse). And that’s not all that you can explore, sense and indulge in.
OVERVIEW
Under the mighty Pohorje there is a small town of Zreče that draws thermal water, the healing Pohorje peat and the volcanic Fango mud from Pohorje. Terme Zreče is a place to relax and enjoy beneficial treatments. And because there are plenty active leisure time activities available, curious and active visitors can go to Vitanje and visit Center Noordung to learn more about space, or to Rogla and walk among tree tops, to Slovenske Konjice to admire the old city core and the Old Castle, while the Žiče charterhouse will take you back to the 12th century, when the construction of French Carthusians' home was ordered, and bring you tranquillity and peace. And because the region is renowned for winegrowing, we also recommend you visit one of the wine cellars. One of the most interesting is the cellar Zlati grič that boats one of the most contemporary wine cellars in the region, golf course among the vineyards, suites in the Wine Growing Mansion from the 15th century, and an excellent culinary offer in the restaurant Gostilna Grič, which you will have the chance to get to know well during your gourmet experience.

Hotel Atrij ****
Hotel Atrij is situated along the edges of Pohorje, in the Terme Zreče hotel complex, inspired by the story of an apple that preserves youth and represents the natural source of health and energy. The hotel also holds the international environmental certificate EcoDaisy.
The area around the hotel is ideal for active ventures since it is intertwined with cycling routes and hiking trails, and there is also a tennis courts nearby. If you want to relax, you are welcome at the idyllic Sauna village with 9 different saunas that include crystal and colour therapy, and the scent of Pohorje herbs. The pool complex comprises 1600 m² of water areas. Meet the chef: Andrej Smogavc
Andrej, a true Pohorje native, has cooked for Marko Pavčnik in the Pavus restaurant, in Evropa in Celje and in Trnovec. He attempts to excel in cooking techniques that are mastered only by the greatest chefs. He enjoys bold and unexpected combinations, which ranks him among the most creative and highly perspective Slovenian chefs. He is truly impressive with local ingredients and loves the homemade character of dishes. You will be able to indulge in the genuine Slovenian tastes, prepared however a bit differently, with a touch of modern and urban.
