The hilly landscape of the Posavje region has been a home to hard-working farmers for centuries. Many noblemen knew how to make use of sunny slopes, where they came to enjoy the riches of the surrounding nature. Next to castles, cities and convents, another picturesque legacy is turnip caves or “repnice”, now rearranged into wine cellars.
The largest Thermal Riviera near the confluence of rivers Sava and Krka, the longest two Slovenian rivers, will certainly contribute to proper rest and relaxation after you get settled in rooms. Active individuals can make use of many walking or cycling routes in the area. There’s something for the most curious ones, too – a trip to Kostanjevica na Krki, the only city in Slovenia that lies on a river island. If you like castles, you will probably spend your days visiting one of the ten castles in the vicinity. We also recommend you visit one of the caves, where farmers used to store turnip which are now rearranged into cellars, where you can taste excellent local wines. You should also visit the city Brežice, full of history and peculiar stories. The German house, the National Hall, the Church of St. Lawrence, Town Hall and the mighty Brežice castle, which is absolutely worth seeing. You can also talk a walk to the old bridge, and the symbol of the city – the Water tower. The afternoon culinary indulgence at the restaurant Ošterija Debeluh will arouse your taste buds, because chef Jure Tomič is one of the best Slovenian chefs. There will be plenty left even for the third day, of course, if you don’t decide to spend it in the spa.
A slightly remote hotel is a peaceful oasis, equally popular among couples and businessmen. More peaceful than on the lively Riviera is also at the hotel baths. And hotel saunas and Roman-Irish baths are also a unique experience, where your body will be well taken care of.

Warm and intimate atmosphere is further conjured up by ochre walls, subtle ambient light, painting with luxurious frames, ancient chandeliers and candles, and mandatory starchy white tablecloths, which allow the dishes to be the “belle of the ball” and take over all senses in combination with the selected wines.

His culinary philosophy derives from the respect of tradition with an innovative approach to modernizing dishes and the use of fresh, local ingredients. His dishes are simple, yet surprising with the purity of the taste and daring combinations. Only three to four ingredients usually reign the plate in Jure's restaurant, however, always of supreme quality and mostly locally grown. Chef Jure is equally creative and traditional while flirting with global trends; he also respects the local soil, climate, customs and traditions. He lifted cooking on an open fire to the highest level, offering a culinary experience like no other. One of Jure's biggest professional achievements has been the membership in the JRE – Jeunes Restavurateurs d'Europe, an association of young restaurateurs and chefs who want to share their talent and passion for food with like-minded people. In addition to the membership in the prestigious association, he was also the president of the Slovenian part of JRE association. Chef Jure was crowned world champion at the fifth edition of Barilla Pasta World Championship in 2016, beating chefs from all over the world and impressing the jury with the recipe "Whole Grain Fusilli with Zucchini, Goat Cheese and Pumpkin Seed Oil Powder". In 2020, Gault&Millau awarded him with the title Chef of the Future.
Each year chef Jure attends several gastronomic festivals, cuisine congresses and competitions, to find new challenges in preparing unique dishes and creating unforgettable guest experiences in the local family restaurant.
